La Nit de l 'Art, coloquio participativo

En el segundo día de la Nit de l’Art, el 11 de mayo, se celebró un coloquio participativo en la cafetería Art Brut.

El evento fue moderado por Joan Montañés Xipell, escritor, ilustrador y cronista de Castelló. Marta Miró Garcia, investigadora en torno al vínculo entre creación y malestar emocional; Graciela García, experta internacional en Art Brut; y Natalia Milis, conocedora de la obra de Iñaki Horta Ciriza, contextualizaron el Art Brut y comentaron algunas de las obras de Iñaki.

La charla resultó ser muy enriquecedora y motivadora, permitiendo a los asistentes comprender los inicios y el origen del término Art Brut, acuñado por Jean Dubuffet en 1945.

Se destacó que la palabra “brut” en francés tiene múltiples significados, como “primitivo”, “puro”, “natural” y “crudo”, lo que puede llevar a confusión debido a su similitud con la palabra “bruto” en castellano o “feo” en valenciano.

Fue interesante escuchar las reflexiones del público y de las ponentes sobre el Art Brut y el arte en general.

Se debatieron los límites del arte y hasta qué punto está dispuesta a llegar la gente, ejemplificando con la grabación de la quema de una obra de Frida Kahlo para convertirla en un NFT, que posteriormente se vendió por un precio récord.

También se sugirió que quizás sería más apropiado utilizar el término “Arts Brut” (en plural), ya que el Art Brut abarca no solo el dibujo y la pintura, sino también una amplia gama de disciplinas artísticas, como la escultura, la arquitectura, el arte textil, el collage y la performance.

In the artwork presented in Art Brut style, a distinctly unsettling atmosphere emerges, filled with unexplained visual noise. The face on the canvas is barely recognizable, as if it flickers between different realities, partially dissolving in a chaos of brushstrokes. The dominant colors — green, black, and pink — evoke tension and discomfort. Green and black spots, at times, resemble static lines, like an old TV screen when the signal wavers. The strokes are sharp, haphazard, creating a texture reminiscent of a blurred, distorted image, as if someone were trying to see through layers of noise.
